BESSEMER, Ala (AP) — Staff at an Amazon warehouse in Alabama are looking for to type a union, establishing a possible battle within the Deep South with an organization that has opposed unionization efforts.
Workers on the Bessemer facility filed a petition final month with the Nationwide Labor Relations Board saying they need to maintain an election on forming a union to characterize the 1,500 full and part-time employees on the so-called achievement middle. It doesn’t embody drivers, seasonal workers, skilled workers and others.
The workers are looking for to be represented by the Retail, Wholesale and Division Retailer Union.
