PETERSBURG, Va. — An Army veteran said her mission in life is to serve others, so after 10 years of active duty, Elizabeth Brunette is continuing that passion in the Army Reserve and working at Amazon.
Brunette works as a site leader at the Petersburg fulfillment center where she started a local chapter of Warriors at Amazon.
It is a program that gives anyone with a military background an opportunity to connect through various events like group yoga — or preparing lunch for those at McGuire VA Medical Center.
It aims to help those workers transition into life after the military and meet other veterans.
“You’re a valued member at Amazon,” Brunette said. “You join a group like that, and you can actually talk with very similar people, similar backgrounds, that you know, it’s just great to network with and when you do volunteer events, it’s even much better.”
Brunette is now working on creating another team with Amazon Air, the company’s cargo airline, by recruiting military veterans across the country.
