StanleyI’ve been lugging around the same Stanley travel thermos for about 12 years now. I’ve filled that sucker with everything you can think of: Water, ice cubes, ice cream, coffee, and of course a whole mess o’ whiskey (shhhh). And unlike most things that have lasted me over a decade, I do not take care of that thermos. I’ve been genuinely rude to it on occasions. But I’m pretty sure it’s going to outlive me.

The thing I love about my Stanley even more than its durability is the degree to which it maintains temperature. It genuinely seems unrealistic. I’ve filled that thing up with coffee using my Aeropress in the morning while camping, and enjoyed a hot cup of joe that night. I’ve stuffed it full of cookie dough ice cream, tossed it in the back of my car for a day-long trip, and had an icy cold dessert once I got to my destination. I feel some brand loyalty to Stanley, but I also feel like they’ve earned it by making products I’ve kept long enough to form a connection with (even while I treat it, oh gosh, just absolutely awful).
