But sometimes, between clocking in for a nine-to-five on your couch and lounging around afterwards, a girl just wants to look like a glamorous old Hollywood starlet who may or may not have been widowed by her oil industry tycoon husband who died under very mysterious circumstances. It’s the little things.
Enter: The Yinyyinhs Faux Feather Lingerie Robe, which I stumbled upon as I went down my Amazon Fashion rabbit hole. The gown has an enthusiastic fan-following of shoppers who’ve already made it their own. And who can blame them? I mean just look at it. The drama!
From its belted waist to its billowy long sleeves, the robe just screams “I live a very luxurious lifestyle.” So much so that even if you’re just wearing it because your leggings are in the wash and you have to answer the door to get your Postmates in something, nobody would guess it.
Although the robe doesn’t have many reviews, the ones it has are all solid. For some reason, this only makes it seem more appealing to me — as if it’s a secret club the shoppers of Amazon have let me in on. But instead of matching jackets, we all have cloaks of silky smooth satin and faux feather trim to lounge about in. Oh, and another thing? It’s custom made to fit like a gem.
“Wow, I feel like a 1920s goddess, literally,” one shopper shared. “I will not be taking this off for the rest of the quarantine. Thank you so so much. So helpful, kind, and [they] even contacted me via email to get my custom measurements!”
While I was conducting this very important research, I also discovered it wasn’t just Amazon shoppers who’ve given the robe their stamp of approval. Two of InStyle.com’s very own fashion editors followed up on Slack to let me know they have the robe themselves. So hey, great minds gravitate toward the most extra style purchase on the internet, or however that old saying goes.
If you, like me, are in need of a little pick me up to get through the week, I suggest giving your loungewear the faux feathery upgrade it deserves. After all, anything goes.
