The withdrawal of Dustin Johnson from this week’s 2021 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am altered the top of the PGA odds board, but didn’t lessen the event’s appeal and the contestants’ desire to hoist crystal Sunday afternoon on the Monterey Peninsula. World Golf Hall of Famer Phil Mickelson is aiming for a record sixth victory at the Pebble Beach starting Thursday at 11:30 a.m. ET in an event that will be devoid of amateurs due to COVID-19 precautions. Former major champions Jason Day and Jordan Spieth are also a part of the 156-player field.

Defending champion Nick Taylor is at 66-1 in the 2021 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am odds from William Hill Sportsbook, well behind Patrick Cantlay at 15-2 and Daniel Berger at 14-1. Day is at 20-1, Spieth at 22-1 and Mickelson is 40-1. One huge shocker the model is calling for at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am 2021: Paul Casey, who’s recorded 20 professional victories and is one of the top Vegas favorites, stumbles and barely cracks the top five. Casey has finished T-12 or better in each of his last two starts worldwide, which includes an eighth place finish at The American Express in January. 

However, Casey has failed to crack the top-30 in four of his last five starts on the PGA Tour. Casey’s inconsistent performances can be directly attributed to his inability to find greens in regulation. The 43-year-old enters this week’s event ranked 130th in greens in regulation percentage (67.93), which doesn’t bode well for his chances to finish on top of the leaderboard this week. He’s not a strong pick to win it all and there are far better values in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am 2021 field.

Another surprise: Si Woo Kim, a massive 30-1 long shot, makes a strong run at the title. Kim has a much better chance to win it all than his odds imply, so he’s a target for anyone looking for a huge payday. The three-time winner on the PGA Tour is already off to a hot start to the 2020-21 season, having captured The American Express four weeks ago.

Kim has also posted an eight-place finish at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open and a 17th at The CJ Cup @ Shadow Creek in a season that has netted over $1.7 million and has Kim ranked 13th in the FedEx Cup points standings.

Kim certainly knows his way around the Monterey Peninsula, finishing fourth at the 2019 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. With recent experience hoisting a trophy and knowing how to go low at Pebble Beach, Kim is a strong value pick that should be all over your radar at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am 2021.
