American Express Stock – GlobalStar Names Former Amex GBT, HRG Exec CEO

GlobalStar Travel Management has named former American Express Global Business Travel and HRG executive James Stevenson CEO, effective April 1. Stevenson will succeed current president and CEO Steve Hartwell, who is retiring after serving 12 years in the role. The president role will be abolished, according to a GlobalStar spokesperson. Under Hartwell, the global travel agency network expanded to include 92 partner agencies in 85 countries.

Incoming CEO Stevenson most recently served as VP and general manager for GBT’s UK. division from August 2018 to February 2020. Prior to that, he served 14 years at HRG in a variety of roles, including global sales director, VP of Asia-Pacific and general manager of China. “With many years’ experience in Asia, one of the most challenging business environments in the world, and senior executive-level roles, James recognizes and appreciates the need to operate effectively across different cultures and countries,” GlobalStar chairman Trevor Elswood said in a statement.
