Zoey Deutch is looking forward to a very relatable activity this Valentine’s Day weekend: ordering in. While the Politician star says she doesn’t have “big feelings” about the holiday one way or the other, she views any holiday as “an opportunity to have a festive celebration and eat.” 1,000% yes to that.
That love of food and shared experiences is why Deutch, 26, partnered with American Express to relaunch its Rose Gold card. This weekend Los Angeles and New York residents can order an American Express x Uber Eats Rose Gold Meal from Fuku (via Uber Eats) that includes a limited edition gold-dusted spicy fried chicken sandwich, a lavender vanilla candle, bubbly flavored soda, and a rose gold sugar cookie.
“It’s Valentine’s Day–themed, it’s cute, and you can order it for a friend or yourself,” she says. “That’s probably what I’m going to do…the latter.”

The last thing I purchased
The Dr. Dennis Gross face steamer and the LED face mask, which I really love. I use them every day. They’re like my children. The steamer says it helps open up your pores so your serums and moisturizers are absorbed better, and the LED mask allows you to do red or blue light for antiaging, acne, or both. I’m a sucker for a face tool. I actually purchased both with the AMEX Rose Gold card.
The kitchen tools I can’t live without
I have all red, vintage-y looking things in my kitchen. I love my red Smeg coffee maker and my all red Le Creuset set. That makes me feel so fancy when I’m cooking. I’ve been making so many soups with it. It just brings me so much joy. It’s the best gift.
The apps I’m obsessed with
Instagram, TikTok and Uber Eats, but the one that I should be using the most is the Calm app. You meet me for, like, five seconds and you’re like, “Wow, that girl needs some meditating in her life.” But I have been using it.
My new favorite camera
I just bought the FujiFilm Instax Mini LiPlay and am obsessed with it. It’s a digital camera that prints Polaroids, so you don’t have to waste film. I have prints all over my house. I just love it.
My favorite item in my closet
Either my Kenzo coat with eyes all over it, which I wear all the time, or my Lorod coat by Lauren Rodriguez. She’s such a talented designer and made this ruffled coat that I love so much.
The comfiest bra I own
It’s from this company called Lonely lingerie. It’s called the Bonnie Bra, and I’m kind of mad that I’m sharing this because it’s always sold out. I’m on the email list to have them send me an update when it comes back in stock. It’s my favorite bra. People are confused why I love it because it’s not padded; it’s wire and it’s lace. But I’ve worn it for so many years.
My tried-and-true jeans
I have a pair of Levi’s black ’90s baggy pants. They were only made for one season, but I’m trying to get them to make them again. They’re the best pants of all time. And I love my dad’s old Levi’s, but I took them in at the waist a little. I’m a Levi’s gal. I cherish them, especially the vintage-ripped jean.
The oversized sweatshirt I live in
My friend made an Apple Pan collab with Mad Happy [Editor’s note: That particular collab is now sold out], and I love it so much. I also just got a red sweater from this company called Cherry that I can’t take off and really love. And I’m wearing this vintage Buffalo Bills Champion sweatshirt that the director of Buffaloed gave me as a wrap gift.
The workout that gets me moving
I’ve really been into Pilates lately. I’d never done it before and love it. I also love a hike—anything to get out of the house in a safe way.
The hair products I always rely on
My wonderful hair colorist, Tracey Cunningham, told me about Olaplex, which I love, but I also have to be very transparent in saying the shampoo and conditioner I’ve been using forever is Kirkland Costco brand in the big, purple, giant bottles. I’ve been using it forever. But my hairstylist, Gregory Russell, just got me the Kérastase Reflection Shampoo and the Oleo-Curl. You put it in after you shower so that your hair doesn’t get frizzy, because I have curly hair. It’s like a lotion that you put a tiny bit after you shampoo and condition, when you dry off your hair, to keep your natural texture.
The skin-care products I swear by
I have tried what feels like everything, so here are my holy grail items: iS Clinical Cleansing Complex and iS Clinical Pro-Heal Advanced Serum, which are incredible products; La Mer The Eye Concentrate, which is just the best; Dr. Barbara Sturm Hyaluronic Serum; and EltaMD Broad Spectrum SPF 46 tinted sunscreen. The EltaMD sunscreen is the only one I have ever used that doesn’t break me out. Ever. It is the most incredible product, not expensive, and you don’t have to wear makeup with it since it’s tinted.
My favorite lip-moisturizing treatments
I have been doing a Charlotte Tilbury lip oil that I’m really loving. And I just posted about this, ’cause I am ChapStick nuts. I love it, it’s cheap, and you can get it at any drugstore. If you have really chapped lips, Neosporin’s lip protectant is so hydrating and healing. The only problem is it comes in a pot, so it doesn’t feel like the most sanitary for COVID time, but it is by far the best I’ve used. La Mer has an amazing lip balm too.
My go-to snack
I have to be eating constantly. I’m always snacking when I watch TV or a movie, so I found snacks that I can eat for a long period of time, like popcorn or carrots and celery or seaweed or pistachios. I love Spindrift sparkling water’s mango flavor. I chug that shit. I am obsessed with Coconut Honey Mama’s Chocolate. It’s the most addictive thing, and I eat like a bar a night. And I don’t like chocolate, to be very clear.
The last book I read
I just finished 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami. It’s super intense but amazing. It’s also so long. I was so scared of it, but I’m glad I did.
The TV shows I just binged
I finally did it; I watched The Sopranos from the very beginning to the end, which is genuinely such an accomplishment. I rewatched Breaking Bad. I am so jealous of anyone who hasn’t seen it yet and gets to watch it for the first time. It’s the best. And I finally started Nathan for You, which I think is maybe the greatest show ever.
