The Town of Apple Valley resumed in-person services at its facilities earlier this week in response to Gov. Gavin Newsom ending regional stay-at-home orders.
Town Hall and Development Services returned to their normal operating schedules on Tuesday, a day after California announced the end to the stay-at-home orders, Apple Valley officials said in a statement.
The offices are open to the public from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. every other Friday.
On Thursday, the Apple Valley Municipal Animal Shelter also reopened. Staff there will be available to the public between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
Additionally, town spokesperson Orlando Acevedo told the Daily Press that Apple Valley’s Household Hazardous Waste facility resumed operation Saturday. Located at 13450 Nomwaket Road, south of Powhatan Road, the facility is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Saturday.
Facemasks are required for all residents in line at the facility.
Household hazardous waste is made up of materials generated during operation of an ordinary home that cannot be disposed of in landfills. According to the town, materials accepted at the facility include tires (no rims; limit nine), pesticides, vehicle and household batteries, medications, paint thinners and antifreeze, among others.

Newsom lifted the stay-at-home orders across the state in response to what he said were improving coronavirus conditions, which shifted the reopening plan back to a four-tier, color-coded system.
San Bernardino County is in the most restrictive “widespread” tier, which allows most businesses to reopen with modifications.
Visitors to town facilities will be required to wear face masks, and subject to brief health screening and “touchless” temperature checks, Apple Valley officials said.
Town Hall is located at 14955 Dale Evans Parkway.
