AstraZeneca News – Bulgaria receives first batch AstraZeneca vaccine

Bulgaria on Saturday received the country’s first batch of the coronavirus vaccine developed by Oxford University and AstraZeneca consisting of 28,800 doses.In total the country expects to receive 4.5 million doses of the vaccine, enough to vaccinate 2.5 million people.

Bulgarian health authorities are still waiting for the European Medicines Agency to approve that the vaccine works in older people. Since December 27 when the vaccination campaign started, 57,000 Bulgarians have been inoculated.
