Bank of America – TD Bank on Elm Street To Close in April
TD Bank is closing its New Canaan branch in three months, according to a letter sent to local customers.
The bank at 272 Elm St. will close April 23, according to a letter dated Jan. 21, obtained by NewCanaanite.com.Apple-converted-space”>
“It’s not goodbye forever, though,” the letter said. “We’re moving in with our TD Bank neighbors close by.”
It’s unclear whether or what additional TD Bank locations are closing. Company officials could not immediately be reached for comment. An auto-response from the company’s Facebook message service said, “Thanks for connecting with TD. We’ll be right with you!”
The news follows Bank of America’s closure of its own branch on Elm Street.
Both banks in their messaging to customers noted that they continue to operate through websites and mobile apps.
The property at 272 Elm St. is owned by a limited liability company, tax records show. Its principals include residents of Norwalk and St. Cloud, Fla., according to Connecticut Secretary of the State records.
