Bankof America – Experience transfering large amounts of Euro from France to US?

Hi, has anybody had experience transferring fairly large amounts (100s of thousands) of Euros from France to the US?
My wife, who is French, has some inherited funds that she wants to transfer to her account in the US where we live.

For smaller amounts (few thousand) we’ve used transferwise, but haven’t tried/risked larger amounts yet.

It looks like my wife would have to make special provisions with her bank to transfer more than her debit card limit of a few thousand Euro per day either to transferwise, or directly to her bank here (Bank of America)
