POINT PLEASANT BEACH. – A 37-year-old man was arrested this weekend close to the Level Nice Seashore boardwalk after banging on financial institution home windows and screaming that he had a gun, police stated. The incident occurred on Friday at roughly 3:34 p.m. when Level Nice Seashore police acquired a cellphone name from the South Whitehall Police Division in Pennsylvania concerning a person who brought on a disturbance at a number of banks, police stated. Jose Gabriel Vega of Schnecksville, Pa. went to a number of banks that have been closed to the general public and commenced banging on the home windows and screaming that he had a gun, police stated. Officers from Pennsylvania responded, however Vega fled the realm in his car, police stated. Vega then traveled to Level Nice Seashore and apparently went to the northern finish of the boardwalk, police stated. Level Seashore officers responded and situated Vega in his car. Vega then ran from officers to the beachfront and entered the water, police stated. Vega was apprehended and positioned beneath arrest by officers on scene. A weapon was not present in his possession, police stated. Vega was charged with obstructing and eluding and was lodged within the Ocean County Jail.
