Computer fraud: West 223rd Street
A resident reported that she was contacted social networking and asked if she ever wished to earn cash “mining Bitcoin” on July 20. She followed the instructions given by the individual, which involved purchasing $1,500 worth of Bitcoin and sending it for him. The individual subsequently got her banking info and allegedly set an account up for her in Switzerland. She had been requested to send additional money on many occasions because of “fees.” When she’d sent out a few million dollars, she got suspicious and stopped sending cash.
Stolen car: Lorain Road
Police responded to a report by a patron that his car has been stolen while in the company on July 27. Upon arrival, the victim told officers he abandoned the vehicle running while fueling, and proceeded to the shop to get cigarettes. After he came out a couple of minutes after, his 2013 Dodge Dart was gone along with the petrol pump handle was still hanging. Video footage reveals a man defendant had gone into a Ford Escape parked in another pump, had been spotted entering the victim’s automobile, and left eastbound on Lorain Road. The Ford was in precisely the exact same place, and upon checking, officers found it had been entered as a stolen car from Parma Police.

The motorist, a 34-year old Avon Lake girl was detained and charged with OVI (medication ) and the automobile was impounded. Officers found tablets, many needles, along with also a metal spoon with drug residue. The two will be charged with drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia.
