Costco – PS5 Restock Updates for Amazon, Target, Best Buy, Walmart and More
Sony’s PlayStation 5 remains in high demand and stock shortages have continued in the weeks since its U.S. launch on November 12 last year.
The next-generation gaming console has appeared sporadically on the websites of retail giants such as Amazon, Walmart and BestBuy—with communication from the company limited in terms of when to expect fresh stock to be made available to the public.
Many fans have now turned to Twitter, where dedicated accounts have been set up with the aim of monitoring and providing news about potential PS5 availability, including SupplyNinja, Target Restock Alerts, YtNextGenGaming and PS5StockAlerts.
Be warned though, it is advised to keep hopes and expectations in check. Any site that obtains stock will likely be overwhelmed with traffic. Twitter is likely to contain links to scams and PS5 scalpers have been using bots to scoop up consoles in bulk.
Void of any official news, social media and media outlets are now filled with rumors and speculation about new PlayStation 5 “drops” at major retailers, which often make the consoles available to buy without significant warning, and most sell out quickly.
Target PS5 Restock
The PS5 and the digital edition were both out of stock at the time of writing, with no official news on when they will return to the website. The DualSense Wireless Controller ($69.99) was in stock and available for delivery at the time of writing.
The Twitter profile @TargetRestock suggested the Pulse 3D Wireless Gaming Headset, DualSense Charging Station and the Media Remote may also be in stock today.
Walmart PS5 Restock
The PS5 and the digital edition were both out of stock at the time of writing, with no official news on when they will return. The DualSense Wireless Controller ($69.96) was in stock and available for delivery at time of writing. The Twitter profile @SupplyNinja speculated a drop could happen this week, but it’s unconfirmed.
BestBuy PS5 Restock
The PS5 and the digital edition—and bundles of both—were both out of stock at the time of writing, with no official news on when they will return. The DualSense Wireless Controller ($69.99) was currently in stock and available for delivery.
Amazon PS5 Restock
The PS5 and the digital edition were both out of stock at the time of writing, with no official news on when they will return to the retail giant’s website. Newsweek previously reported consoles were available January 1, but they quickly sold.
The Twitter profile YtNextGenGaming said on Saturday that rumors suggest Best Buy, Costco, Target, Walmart and Newegg may have more stock this coming week.

On Saturday, the person behind one account warned it’s not an exact science. “I’m getting dozens of DMs asking what exact day the drops are happening this week. Nobody knows for sure. They are called drops because retailers randomly drop stock. It’s random,” wrote the @SupplyNinja Twitter profile. “Im a ninja, not a psychic.”
