Sharing his thoughts on vaccine passports, Hoskinson expressed his displeasure at discussions about making them a condition of public life.
“The concern now is that there are many nations discussing the use of vaccine passports as a criterion for public life. Go to a restaurant, go to a nightclub, go to a coffee shop, attend a concert, any public gathering that cites public health concerns. “
He added that while doing this may yield some marginal health benefits in the short term, his main concern is that tyrants could use the infrastructure for illicit reasons.
“My deep concern is that such infrastructure, if used to restrict freedom of movement, is a denial mechanism, it will inevitably be used by those who have more totalitarian thoughts …”
With this in mind, Hoskinson said that without the immutable social constraints in a vaccine passport system, IOG wouldn’t get involved with them.
“For us, it is very important that the things that are promised to you are not misused or mishandled.”
