CVS – Intermountain Healthcare to close 25 retail pharmacies across Utah
Intermountain Healthcare announced thay will close 25 retail pharmacies and transfer prescriptions and inventory to CVS Pharmacy in August 2021.
According to Intermountain Health, the closures will affect locations in Utah with low usage by residents.
Hospital and inpatient pharmacies will remain open as they are used to serve patients receiving care within the hospitals.
Intermountain said they will continue to offer medication management services, home deliveries of medications and specialty pharmacy.
They also noted that the retail pharmacy at Primary Children’s Hospital will also remain open.
Pharmacy files will be securely and confidentially transferred to CVS pharmacies located in nearby locations.
CVS said it will work with all new patients to ensure that they can continue to access their medications easily and without disruption.
A letter will be sent to patients explaining the closures, process, timeline, and more information on who to contact if they have any questions.
Intermountain said they will work with impacted employees to help relocate them and transition them into other roles. they will also be considered for positions with local CVS Pharmacy locations.
