Mike Lindell, the CEO of MyPillow and staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump, was banned from Twitter Monday night.
The page for Lindell’s account, @realmikelindell, says the account is suspended for violating Twitter’s rules.
A spokesperson for Twitter told the Associated Press, the social media platform banned Lindell for “repeated violations” of its civic integrity policy. The policy was implemented last September and is targeted at fighting disinformation.
As the inauguration of President Joe Biden approached, Lindell used social media to spread false claims about the integrity of the 2020 presidential election, even though there has been no evidence of widespread voter fraud.
Dominion Voting Systems, one of the biggest election equipment manufacturers in the U.S., has threatened legal action against Lindell if he did not retract his accusations and issue an apology.
In addition to a ban from Twitter, last week, big box stores like Kohl’s and Bed Bath and Beyond announced they would no longer carry My Pillow products.
Wayfair and Today’s Shopping Choice made similar decisions.
