Facebook – Hull revenge porn victim forced to quit job after Facebook hacked
A Hull woman was forced to quit her job after a man hacked her Facebook account and uploaded explicit images of her.
The “wicked and jealous” man behind the hack has now been put behind bars after admitting he wanted ‘people to see her for what she was’.
Hull Crown Court heard the man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, sent her a threatening message saying he would hack her account if she didn’t obey his threat and a follow up message read ”look at Facebook, enjoy’.

“He started to send messages to her that made it clear that he had access to her Facebook account,” said Mr Thompson. “He then sent her two copies of explicit images and recordings.”
The complainant checked social media to see herself in explicit images of her engaging in sexual activity with a man posted, as well as intimate pictures of her body.
Mr Thompson said: “He followed up by telling the complainant that he would send the images to more people. He said he had more images and that he would get them printed [out].
“The complainant intended for those images to be private and was worried about what he might do next.”
Police arrested the man the next morning at Hull address where he admitted to hacking her Facebook account.
The revenge porn victim said the hack had a “major impact” on her life – which included having to quit her job.
“I was throwing up at the thought of going in and people judging,” she said in her statement. “I rarely leave the house. I have mixed emotions of anger and upset.”

The man, of previous good character, was charged with disclosing private sexual photographs and films with intent to cause distress.
He later admitted “jealousy overcame him” at the time.
Mitigating barrister Michael Forrest said: “In seeking instructions on this matter I asked what would have possessed this man of good character to act in this manner.
“He is frank and open. Jealousy overcame him. He struggled with his emotions and can’t comprehend his actions.
“It is not the man he was brought up to be. It is not the man he wants to be.”
Mr Forrest added: “While he needs to be punished, is also a defendant who needs help.
“I submit that whilst this matter is serious, and would perhaps meet a custodial sentence, your honour can suspend the sentence in line with his good character and his own commitment to work with the probation service for him to grow and learn as a person.”
Judge John Thackray disagreed and described the offence as “wicked” and “nasty”.
“It was a wicked offence, mean and nasty. You made a threat to hack her phone and followed it through.
“It is clear that you have some disturbing attitudes.
“I am urged to suspend the sentence but I seriously doubt you can be rehabilitated within the community. Even if I’m wrong the only appropriate punishment can be achieved by way of an immediate custodial sentence.”
The defendant will spend six months in prison for his actions and must adhere to a five-year restraining order.
