Fortnite – Every Week 9 Challenge in Fortnite Season 5
During Week 9 of Fortnite Season 5, players will need to do some investigating, shake down opponents, and find hidden locations to earn XP.
A new week means new Challenges fans of Fortnite Season 5 can look forward to and complete for more XP toward their Battle Pass. During Season 5, Weekly Challenges have been rebranded as Epic Challenges, and there are typically seven players can complete every week. Unlike Weekly Challenges from previous seasons, these must be completed in a certain order, and only one or two will unlock at a time which makes them slightly more difficult to complete. Players can also complete an eighth challenge, called a Legendary Challenge, that takes place in 5 separate stages. Each stage comes with its own generous chunk of XP.

Each Epic Challenge a player completes will net them 20,000 XP, and the first stage of the Legendary Challenge rewards 55,000 XP. Every subsequent stage a player completes of the Legendary Challenge offers an extra 22,000 XP. In previous weeks, the Epic Challenges have appeared to follow a certain theme or two. This week, three of the challenges focus on bounty hunter activities, like shakedowns and recovering a plane’s black box, and the rest seem like simple enough native-Fortnite tasks players will have likely previously done before. Here’s every Week 9 Challenge in Fortnite Season 5.
Every Week 9 Challenge in Fortnite Season 5
Unlike in previous weeks, many of the challenges for Week 9 do require players to find specific locations on the Fortnite map. Because of this, it will be safer for players to try and complete these location-based challenges in Team Rumble mode rather than in a regular match.
The Week 9 Epic Challenges are:
Most of the challenges are straightforward, as long as players know where to find everything. There are three hidden bunkers, with one underwater, one under a shack, and one behind a bush making the shape of a triangle on the map. Players can find the black box on the southeast side of Coral Castle. There are stone statues scattered across the map, so players will want to simply choose the closest one to their preferred landing zone.
The Week 9 Legendary Challenge tasks players with shaking down 5, 10, 15, 20, and finally 25 opponents. In this case, opponents can be other players, but they can also be IO Guards if players would prefer to take a less confrontational route.
To shake down an NPC or opponent, players will need to shoot until they are knocked down, then get in close and interact with the player or guard. Players can also complete the stages of this challenge with a team to make sure they complete it within the one-week timeframe.
