Fortnite – Fortnite’s Scrapped Grenade Launcher Could Call In Artillery Strikes
Fortnite scrapped a grenade launcher that could shoot explosive rounds like a minigun and could call in artillery strikes like the Airstrike grenade.
Fortnite has added and removed plenty of crazy weapons over the course of its 15 seasons, but one scrapped weapon that never made it into the game was a grenade launcher that could call artillery strikes. While Fortnite once introduced a grenade that called an artillery strike, this overpowered grenade launcher will likely never make it into the game due to its overwhelming destructive power.
However, Fortnite has had to remove some ridiculously overpowered weapons in the past after the community was outraged. The Infinity Blade is one of the most iconic removed weapons which was quickly removed from the game after players abused its one-shot ability during official tournaments. Planes from Fortnite Chapter 1 were also removed after players would spend entire matches in the air until gunning down the last man on the ground for an easy Victory Royale. And who can forget the B.R.U.T.E. mech suits that terrorized players for the first few weeks of Chapter 1 Season 10.
Yet, some weapons are considered too powerful after their development to make it into the game. That’s the case for the TinStack grenade launcher datamined by Twitter user ximton, which is a minigun that shoots explosive rounds instead of small ammo. Now, ximton has found another feature the weapon was intended to have that can call down an artillery strike similar to the Airstrike grande from Chapter 1 Season 9. Except for this time, the TinStack would initiate the airstrike without any warning signs.
This isn’t the only weapon that has been discovered that Fortnite has scrapped, but it is the most overpowered. There have also been Rocket Launchers that shoot goblins and Pistols that shoot Gnomes, both of which sound like fun additions to the game. And while pro players may not be happy with the addition of the TinStack, it would make for some very interesting plays and would be great for countering players who love to build.
The most recent seasons haven’t included many explosive weapons which were great for taking out builds. While it would be ridiculous to include a weapon that can shoot grenades at the rate of a minigun, there should be more weapons that can counter sweaty boys and their darn 90s. Rocket Launchers and Grenades are still in Fortnite, but they are few and far between. It might be time for Epic Games to consider adding something to the game with a little more kick. Maybe it is time for the TinStack to make its debut.
