Sports Gambling – Larry Nance Jr. lost nearly 20 pounds battling illness
Larry Nance Jr. has been away from the Cleveland Cavaliers for the past week while battling an undetermined illness — which left him stuck in bed and caused him to lose nearly 20 pounds, .
The injury is reportedly unrelated to COVID-19, though every test he’s taken to try and determine the issue has come back negative. Nance also has Crohn’s disease, though it’s unclear if that is related.
Nance, per the report, first started feeling sick on March 29 before their 114-75 loss to the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City. He didn’t play in the contest, and flew home with the team that night. Nance then sat out their current road trip, which ends on Thursday after a matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder and will mark the fifth game he’s missed due to the illness.
Nance reportedly struggled to keep food down and lost nearly 20 pounds during that stretch.
Though he’s “on the mend,” it’s unclear when Nance will make his return.
The 28-year-old has averaged 10.1 points and 7.1 rebounds in 29 games for the Cavaliers this season. He’s in the second year of a four year, nearly $45 million deal with Cleveland.
