COMEX Gold hit three- and half-month high today amid a sustained slide in the US dollar. The US dollar index slumped today, breaking under the key 90 mark to approach lowest in nearly three months as focus shifted to the release of the minutes from the latest US Federal Reserve monetary policy meeting. COMEX Gold are currently trading at $1870 per ounce, up marginally on the day. MCX GoldGold are currently trading at Rs 48360 per 10 grams, down 0.24% on the day. The Indian Rupee added good gains today following spike in local equities. The INR is consolidating around two month high in last few days. The local currency broke under 73 per US dollar mark in intraday moves. GoldCovid-19 front. The World Health Organization on Monday, 17 May 2021 warned that the global pandemic isnt over yet despite high COVID-19 vaccination rates in some countries.
