Gold – Local Bullion And Metal Counters Tumble As INR Strengthens Further
Indian Rupee soared sharply yet again today, adding to its recent gains and hitting a fresh one year high under 72.30 per US dollar. The US dollar index is lingering just above 90 mark but is under pressure after testing six week low in last session. The strength in INR is keeping a tab on the local commodities. The MCX Gold are down 0.15% at Rs 46730 per 10 grams while Silver is down 0.21% at Rs 69192 per kg. Base metals turned lower with Copper sliding 0.79% at Rs 700.30 per kg and Nickel tumbling 1.17% at Rs 1390 per kg. Zinc fell 1.15% to Rs 223.90 per kg while Lead pared 0.85% to trade at Rs 168.55 per kg. MCX Aluminium is also lower by 0.35% at Rs 170.40 per kg. Natural Gas pulled back amid negative cues from global markets as the US Natural Gas futures are down 1.15% at $2.89 per mmbtu. MCX Natural Gas fell 1.75% to trade at Rs 208 per mmbtu.
