Biggest losers included Tui AG (LON:), which lost 16.97% or 71.70 points to trade at 350.90 in late trade. Sberbank Of Russia (LON:) declined 4.42% or 0.66 points to end at 14.28 and EasyJet PLC (LON:) shed 3.59% or 29.00 points to 778.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 1590 to 740 and 72 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 0.65% or 12.10 to $1853.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.96% or 0.51 to hit $52.62 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.87% or 0.49 to trade at $55.61 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.44% to 1.3672, while EUR/GBP rose 0.59% to 0.8907.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 90.165.
