Rockland — The following cases were completed in the Knox County court from Feb. 26 through March 5.
Brandon Maddocks, 26, of Washington was sentenced to five years in prison after a significant amount of drugs were found in his vehicle after police were notified that someone was “shooting up” in the parking lot of The Home Depot in Rockland in December 2020.
He pleaded guilty to aggravated trafficking in drugs and also to aggravated criminal mischief. He received a concurrent lesser sentence for the aggravated criminal mischief case.
During his March 1 sentencing hearing, Assistant Attorney General Jeffrey Baroody said Maddocks was found with 27 grams of methamphetamine, 18 grams of heroin and a ledger that included drug sales. The ledger showed he moved a fair amount of drugs. Maddocks also received a three years with all but four months suspended sentence in 2017 for drug trafficking.
Maddocks told Justice Bruce Mallonee that he started using drugs when he was 15 years old and both parents were in jail. He said he had to raise himself and his sister.
He was represented by attorney Roger Hurley.
Sarah N. Crane, 42, of Cushing, was sentenced to three years in jail with all but six months suspended for theft from the Rockland Congregational Church in 2019. She was also placed on probation for two years upon her release and ordered to make restitution of $6,246 to the church.
She was also given lesser concurrent sentences for forgery, unlawful possession of drug, another theft on Sept. 12, 2020 in Thomaston; and five counts of violating a condition of release.
A charge of assault on Feb. 9. 2021 in Cushing was dismissed as well as an attaching false plates charge.
Crane served as office administrator for the church from May through December 2019.
Chloe Edwards, 22, Waldoboro, domestic violence assault on Sept. 16, 2018 in Rockland, 364 days in jail with all but 30 days suspended, one-year probation; criminal mischief and violating a condition of release on Sept. 16. 2018 in Rockland, 30 days in jail.
Alan Kruger, 39, Rockland, operating while license suspended or revoked, dismissed; trafficking in prison contraband, dismissed; violating condition of release, seven days in jail; criminal trespass and violating protection from abuse order, seven days in jail; unlawful possession of drug on June 13, 2020 in Rockland, 30 days with all but seven days suspended, $400 fine; trafficking in prison contraband, dismissed; violating seven days in jail; carrying concealed weapon, dismissed; violating condition of release, seven days in jail.
Jason E. Wotton, 47, Friendship, domestic violence assault on Oct. 14, 2019, six months in jail.
Joshua Hooper, 33, Rockland, burglary on Jan. 27, 2020 in Rockland, two years in jail with all but 90 days suspended, two years probation, restitution of $650; theft on Jan. 27, 2020 in Rockland, 90 days in jail; three counts of theft (Dec. 17, 2019 in Owls Head, and Dec. 26, 2019 in Warren, three years in jail with all but six months suspended, two years probation, restitution of $600; forgery on Dec. 26, 2019 in Warren, same sentence with restitution of $600.
Cody T. Hamilton, 22, Vinalhaven, operating under the influence, dismissed.
Matthew S. Catalano, 38, St. George, falsifying physical evidence on Jan. 27, 2020 in St. George, 10 days in jail; violating condition of release, 48 hours jail.
Caleb D. O’Brien, 30, Cushing, probation violation on a prior domestic violence assault case, 14 days in jail.
Donald Simmons Sr., 66, Friendship, criminal mischief on June 13, 2020 in Friendship, $250 fine and $799 restitution.
Deven Shay, 29, Warren, false registration of deer on Nov. 24, 2020 in Warren, $300 fine.
Keasha Johnson, 19, Washington, minor possessing liquor, $200 fine; minor consuming liquor, dismissed.
