Kroger is still asking folks to wear a mask despite the CDC’s guidance
Other stores requiring them: Home Depot, Macys and Target
Meanwhile, a few stores, like CVS and Walgreens are re-evaluating their mask policy.
Walmart updated it’s in-store mask policy, saying vaccinated folks can take their mask off. They are still asking if you are unvaccinated to still wear a mask.
Some local stores are telling their customers and employees they can go without one. Bennett Mize, Reed’s president said before the CDC’s announcement, the employees had to wear a mask and it was highly encouraged for customers to wear one, “We have had a whole year of weight on our shoulders, yesterday was a good feeling.. A good feeling to take the mask off.”
If a customer comes in wearing a mask, employees put one on out of curtesy of the customer. Mize said almost everyone at the store is fully vaccinated.
He said employees are excited they can take their mask off now, “Sometimes it gets hot in here running around trying to sell goods and products in a clothing department store.”
