Ferrari News – Liberty Walk Celebrates First Silhouette Modded Ferrari 458 GT In South Africa
South African custom shop RACE! is responsible for applying the LB body kit to the Ferrari.
You’ve got to admire Wataru Kato’s enthusiasm. Here’s a dude who’s been doing renovations on supercars since 2008, catering to upper-crust folks demanding alterations to high-end rides from a BMW M4 to multiple variations of the Lamborghini Aventador. While he could have easily been swept up by the cavalier attitudes of the rich and famous, a Monday Instagram post concerning a Ferrari proves the Liberty Walk entrepreneur is still as gleeful as a kid in a candy store.
A Badass Ferrari Treatment
The creation this time was a shot from South Africa showcasing a Ferrari 458 GT all decked out in Liberty Walks’s latest LB Silhouette WORKS line designed to add a sleekness to the bodywork the company undertakes.
For a guy who’s got a clientele that can already keep him set for life many times over, Kato is refreshingly gobsmacked over sharing the image. “First LB Silhouette WORKS Ferrari 458 GT in South Africa!” he exclaimed. “Well done!”
Kato especially focused on the work done on the hood and the rear wing, remodded in a dry carbon material, with hordes of supporters chiming in their approval. “That looks so sinister, completely badass,” replied one respondent, one of nearly 13,000 folks who liked the post.
Supercar Essence Maintained
What’s the appeal of Liberty Walks? Well, Kato has a knack for keeping in mind the spiritual essence of a supercar before deciding what kind of work needs to be done on it. To most purists, changing the appearance of a luxury car smacks of sacrilegious tampering, but Kato’s creations tend to sway many of the doubters.
In lesser hands, a bad widebody job runs the risk of a car looking a bit clunky in the end. However, with a project helmed by Kato’s firm, you could swear the additions come across like flexed muscles.
A Big Worldwide Impression
It’s that vision and ingenuity that’s made Liberty Walk in high demand among luxury car owners seeking a custom job. A recent makeover of a Lamborghini Aventador at Los-Angeles-based RDB involved a Liberty Walk kit to deck the supercar out in a swampy green carbon fiber wrap from front bumper to rear spoiler and everything in between. When the Lambo job was done, it reported created quite a stir on the streets.
