Luxury LifeStyle – Antilles reflects the best of Naples
| Special to Naples Daily News
Naples has always been an exceptional place to spend your winter vacation. Fine weather, acres of beaches, great fishing, soothing Gulf of Mexico surf and, of course, the legendary Green Flash sunsets. Those proven delights and more are woven into the essential Naples experience. In recent years, its list of amenities and entertainments has increased to further enhance the good life in Naples today. Dazzling homes, nationally ranked restaurants, stunning golf course communities and world class shopping have also been added to Naples’ list of amenities. And we love it all and the pride of place it confers.
Then again, the essence of Naples is still and always will be right here where it belongs, and that is what Antilles is all about. Refocusing on this exceptional subtropical paradise and reevaluating how we want to live in it, but of course surrounded by all the exceptionalism – native and new – that Naples offers.
JMD Development was formed to build a residential community that could be marketed both for its attention to Naples’ natural assets as well as the luxury lifestyle that is equally at the heart of the Naples’ standard of living. JMD also set out to develop a community to compete with other larger and older golf and high membership communities with dense populations, escalating fees and eventual assessments for aging infrastructure.
The property is exactly what JMD wanted, fifty-four acres with a central five-acre Kingfisher Lake and adjacent Wetland Preserve. The site is Antilles’ centerpiece, set back at the quiet end of a long approach rich in native vegetation and local color. During the course of Antilles’ development, many local waterfowl, birds and native species have been photographed in their habitats which will remain untouched within Antilles’ Wetland Preserve. They will remain a great resource for nature sightings and explorations for years to come.
Antilles’ size comfortably allows for a select community of 212 condominium Coach and Multiplex homes, and a 14,000 square foot indoor-outdoor amenity center designed to indulge to resort specifications. Phase One development is now complete and includes the fabulous Flamingo Club at Antilles and sixty-eight condominium residences representing all three of its building configurations. Pricing for well-appointed two and three Bedroom condominiums starts in the upper $300,000’s and features low monthly fees.
All of Antilles’ homes include Garage parking and screened-in Lanais in their purchase price. No upgrades required. Classic Coach Homes are two-story, four-unit buildings, and feature three-Bedroom floorplans, ranging from 1,509 to 1,537 square feet under air. The first floor Saba features a U-shaped Kitchen and its decorator model offers rich espresso-stained cabinetry, crown molding and a large Lanai. The second story Tobago floorplan lives large and offers great views. Its decorator model showcases a wonderful wall to wall and floor to ceiling feature wall finished in wide neo-rustic wood planks.
Grand Coach Homes are larger four-unit residences with three-Bedroom floorplans and attached two-car Garages. The first floor Nevis is 1,980 square feet under air, and has a split Bedroom plan. It sharp decorator model plays against the Saba’s open and airy floorplan with deepest sea blue features walls, creating a contemporary stateroom on a luxury cruise effect. Striking white coral art pieces underscore the style. The upper floor Montserrat is the largest home in Antilles with 2,444 air conditioned square feet. Its large first floor Entry affords a sense of enhanced privacy and its decorator model is a showcase for Antilles’ standard finishes.
Phase One construction also includes Multiplexes, twelve-unit elevator buildings designed two floors over ground level parking. The end unit Antigua is the largest floorplan with 1,698 air conditioned square feet. It offers three Bedrooms, two Baths and a wide Dining Room bay window for wide views and pleasurable mealtimes. The Barbados is a somewhat smaller three-Bedroom plan with 1,549 square feet under air, and wide, triple slider door access to the Lanai for easy indoor-outdoor living. Its Kitchen snack bar seating gives it a casual feel. The Curacao is the third Multiplex floorplan and Antilles’ only two-Bedroom, two-Bath residence. It has a huge Master Suite spanning nearly the length of the unit and a walk-in Closet only slightly smaller than the Laundry Room. The Lanai extends the width of the Curacao and can be accessed from the Great Room or Master Suite.
Antilles’ standard features and finishes include fine and contemporary elements such as solid wood interior doors, hurricane-rated windows and doors, Shaker style Kitchen cabinetry with 42-inch uppers, Merano hardware, higher ceilings and baseboards, sleek Decora-trim rocker style lighting switches, cove ceiling detailing per plan, wide profile, porcelain tile flooring, double sink Master Bath vanities, Kohler plumbing fixtures, substantial frameless glass shower doors and built-in custom Closet systems throughout. All residences include Linen Closets, Pantries, walk-in Master Closets and separate Laundry Rooms. Fintech Zoom countertops are standard throughout, as are Kitchen island pendant fixtures and stainless steel Kitchen appliances – including on-trend French door style refrigerators. Recessed lighting and advance wiring for data, voice and video are standard.
The fabulous Flamingo Club at Antilles amenity center features classic West Indies Island style architecture, subtle tones and elegant finishes which are as appropriate to a luxury resort as they are representative of the quality built into every Antilles residence. Designed to be the heart of community life, it offers 14,000 square feet of pure luxury, indoors and out. The Entry areas are washed with light from its wide banks of windows and doors. Concierge and executive services are managed here and the Exercise and Fitness Center, Massage Room and Antilles’ Selection Center are to the rear. The huge Gathering Room is half of the Club’s 5,000 square foot expanse and features wall to wall views over the 3,500 square foot Resort Pool and Spa, sun and shade Decks, Tiki Hut with al fresco seating, arbor-enclosed Fire Pit, two Bocce Ball Courts, regulation Pickleball Quad-Courts, and beyond to Kingfisher Lake and the Wetland Preserve. The way the Pool is aligned with the Lake and Preserve appears to create a long, stepped water view that’s looks like it goes on forever. Highlighted at night and accompanied by twin triple-tier Lake fountains, evenings in Antilles will become special events.
The Club’s Gathering Room offers several areas for socializing. Its Fireplace Lounge area is complete with big screen TV and comfortable upholstered seating to encourage lingering conversations. Multiple round tables with plush side chairs are perfect for cards, dining and general socializing. Sonny’s Cafe and its snack bar seating are positioned to become Antilles’ hub for morning coffee to evening brews. The adjacent Catering Kitchen will always be ready for any special event.
