READERS have condemned protestors from an animal rights group after McDonald’s restaurants were forced to close over the weekend.
Activists took to McDonald’s distribution centres across the UK on Saturday as part of a number of demonstrations against the chain.
Barrow’s Dalton Road store was one of those affected by the protest by Animal Rebellion.
A spokesman for the store said: “There was a shortage of stock. We closed on Sunday at 2.30pm and we were closed yesterday (Monday) as well.
“Everything is back up and running now.”
Animal Rebellion has demanded the chain commits to becoming fully plant-based by 2025.
