Merck KGaA stated Thursday that it’ll make investments 10 million euros ($11.9 million) in a brand new plant as a part of a partnership with German conglomerate Siemens AG to digitalize manufacturing.
The modular plant is anticipated to be accomplished by 2022 at Merck’s web site situated within the Darmstadt area of Germany, it stated.
The collaboration between Siemens and Merck will “end result within the growth of a course of management system for the modular manufacturing of progressive supplies and merchandise for the electronics, pharmaceutical and life science industries,” the German prescribed drugs and chemical compounds firm stated.
The challenge is a part of a broader program for Merck’s world headquarters in Darmstadt, which totals EUR1 billion in funding to 2025, Merck stated.
