BERNARDS TWP., NJ _ The Bernards Township Health Department has scheduled COVID-19 vaccination clinics of both the two-dose Moderna and single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccines for this Thursday, May 20, and next Saturday, May 22. There is no cost for either vaccine.
The township health department has been approved by the state of New Jersey to administer the vaccine. The township also will continue to offer testing for COVID-19, with the next testing clinic also scheduled for next Thursday.

On Thursday, May 20, from 5 to 8 p.m. at St. James Church, 184 S. Finley Ave., Basking Ridge.
On Saturday, May 22, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Bernards Township Community Center, 289 S. Maple Ave. Basking Ridge.
Those who receive the two-dose Moderna vaccine will have the opportunity to schedule their second dose prior to or at the clinic. Second doses of the Moderna vaccine will be administered on Thursday, June 17, and on Saturday June 19, at the same time and locations, according to the township health department website.
No ID or insurance is required
No identification or insurance is required to receive the vaccine, according to the health department.
Adults 18 and over should visit http://www.signupgenius.com/go/bthdvax to sign up for an appointment. Walk-ins are welcome but are not guaranteed a vaccine.

The Bernards Township Health Department is the contractual health agency for Bernards Township, Bernardsville Borough, Chester Borough, Long Hill Township, Mendham Borough, and Peapack and Gladstone Borough.

Walk-ins for testing are welcome, but the last appointment is at 4 p.m.
Diagnostic testing for SARS-CoV-2, commonly referred to as Coronavirus (COVID-19), will be performed by FDA approved, Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction(RT-PCR) platform. Clinical services will be provided by WellCare.
All participants must remain in their vehicle until their appointment time and must wear a mask or face covering during registration and testing. All clients will be screened which includes answering questions and check of vital signs.To be tested, participants need to present a state-issued photo ID or driver’s license and their medical insurance cards for identification.
Testing is fast, safe, and is available for those age 5 through adults, according to the health department. All results of the lab test will be delivered by phone or text in a timely manner and a hard copy is available upon request. WellCare will provide clients with information on how the result can be obtained.
With medical insurance there is no cost for participating in the COVID-19 testing event. Only diagnostic medical services covered by the participants’ medical insurance will be performed.
