Banco Nacional de Angola (BNA) launched a request for data with a view to deciding on the corporate that shall be chargeable for the Cellular and Instantaneous Switch System (‘mobile money’) to be carried out in Angola.
“As there is already a very consolidated mobile telecommunications network in the Angolan market, Banco Nacional de Angola intends to implement a Mobile and Instant Transfer System (STMI), which is available throughout the Angolan territory and accessible to the entire population, commonly known as Mobile Money ”, justifies the regulator on its web site.
The opening of requests for data is meant for the preparation of a request for proposal (RFP) to decide on the technological operator of the entity that shall be chargeable for the technological administration of STMI, which should be a cost system operator based mostly in Angola.
The cost system in Angola is at the moment based mostly on the usage of 4 book-entry cost devices (checks , cost playing cards, credit score transfers and direct debits) and consists of 4 interbank subsystems, a big cost system and a settlement of securities.

The request for proposal shall be launched by the BNA on 24 in June with deadline reply by 31 in July.
