Paypal – Norridge police: girl wire transferred $100 to scammer as ransom for pretend kidnapping
A resident reported Jan. 9 that somebody known as her and stated that he had kidnapped her acquaintance, and that the resident wanted to ship a wire switch of $1,000 for the acquaintance to be launched. The resident stated she solely had $100 and agreed to switch it to the caller. She then notified police, who found the decision was a rip-off and that the “kidnapping” by no means came about. The police checked on the acquaintance, who was secure and unaware of the incident.
