Playstation 5 – Will MLB The Show 21 Return on PlayStation 5?
With Xbox announcing its extension with MLB to bring MLB The Show 21 to Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, many Playstation fans may wonder if they’ve struck out on playing The Show this year.
Fear not, however, this new partnership isn’t exclusive, according to The Show’s social media and website.
Yes, PlayStation players will not have to switch to the Green Brand to keep playing MLB The Show. The game is simply adding Xbox players to their growing community of fans. Additionally, the game will also feature cross-platform gaming for the first time ever, so you won’t have to only play opponents on your selected console.
Additionally, the game will be releasing a cross-gen version on PlayStation 4. So if you start the game there and make progress before upgrading, you can carry over to the latest edition on PlayStation 5.
Playstation has also decided to give back with the sales of MLB The Show 21. According to the game’s website, PlayStation is donating $1 for every collector’s edition of the game sold in the US to the Jackie Robinson Foundation.
The donations will be specifically going to the Foundation’s Scholar’s Program to help reduce the achievement gap in higher education. With the collector’s edition not only do you get a bunch of in-game content for Dynasty Mode, and play the game four days early, but you can even receive an exclusive MLB The Show cap and physical steelbook.
The standard and collector’s edition is available now for pre-order on the PlayStation Store, and the game officially releases to everyone on April 20, 2021.
