Procter & Gamble – Nifty FMCG trade higher; Varun Beverages stock led the pack; ITC, Tata Consumer add to winnings
Varun Beverages (VBL) led the gains while Tata Consumer also contributed well. ITC and UBL were also bullish. Jubilant Foodworks remained under pressure.
At around 1.15 pm, Nifty FMCG was trading at 35,306.65 up 168.65 points or 0.48% after touching a day’s low of 35,199.50.
Markets overall were rose after being engaged in a subdued trade in the morning. BSE Sensex was trading at 52,255.46 up 155.41 points or 0.30% and Nifty 50 was at 15,740.50 up 70.25 points or 0.45%.
VBL surged 4% at Rs1,100.05 per piece to drive the Index forward. Tata Consumer also gained nearly 2% at Rs700.15 per piece to provide able support. UBL and ITC also advanced 1.28% and 1.10% respectively.
Britannia, United Spirits, Colgate Palmolive, Marico, Dabur, Procter & Gamble Hygiene also traded well higher. Emami and Nestle India also made marginal gains.
Jubilant Foodworks shed over 1.5% at Rs3,126.40 per piece to drag the most. Godrej Consumer was down over 0.5% while Hindustan Unilever also shed 0.24%.
