PS5 Games – Here’s When ‘Deathloop’ Finally Comes To Xbox Series X
Deathloop is a new and very stylish first-person shooter from the makers of Dishonored. In the game, you play as an assassin in a time-loop, utilizing your shooting abilities to hunt down your prey in a day that continually resets.
The game is a PS5/PC exclusive that releases on September 14th. Here’s the game’s Steam page. If you don’t have a PlayStation 5 or a gaming rig you’re out of luck.
Fortunately, it’s only a timed exclusive. Deathloop will come to Xbox—at the earliest—one year after its PS5 release. We learned that at the very end of the game’s latest gameplay walkthrough trailer which was shown off during the Deathloop State Of Play Thursday.
If you read that tiny writing at the bottom it says “Also available on PC. Not available on other consoles until at least 09/14/22.”
I think it’s fair to say that Microsoft will bring this to the Xbox Series X (and possibly Xbox One) as soon as contractually possible, given that the company now owns Bethesda, the parent company of Arkane Lyon. It’s such a bizarre situation. The first of Bethesda’s big next-gen games is a Sony timed-exclusive even though Microsoft now owns the IP. The Xbox manufacturer simply can’t distribute the game to its customers for a year.
One advantage Xbox gamers have over PlayStation gamers when it comes to Deathloop is the price-tag. Any Xbox Game Pass subscriber will get the game on Xbox Games at launch at no extra charge. This hasn’t been announced, but Microsoft is bringing all of its titles to Game Pass, including Halo Infinite, so it stands to reason Deathloop will be as well.
In the below video I talk about why Game Pass makes the Xbox Series X (or S) the console to buy in 2021. You can buy an Xbox Series S right now right here.
