Update: ShopTo and Scan PS5 stock could drop today. Read on for more information.
It’s been eight months since the launch of the PS5, but persistent supply problems and a global shortage of semiconductors have slowed production of the next-generation console to a crawl. New stock is hard to find, and when it does appear the PS5 sells out fast.
With that said, things are slowly improving. In May, we saw restocks from all major UK retailers for the first time since the console’s release. The comeback faltered in June, but in-store restocks at Game did make a small resurgence. July has been a mixed bag so far, but restocks have been picking up pace again, with six drops last week from the likes of Amazon and John Lewis. So far this week, we’ve enjoyed four drops from Very, Smyths Toys, Argos and Game.
If you’re looking to get your mitts on a PS5, there’s still hope. We’re on hand to give you the latest insight on Playstation 5 restocks from all major retailers, both online and in-store, as well as providing details on rumoured releases, the latest PS5 games and accessories to snap up and much more. Happy hunting.

When was the last Asda PS5 restock?
Asda was one of the retailers rumoured to drop stock this week, and PS5 stock trackers have been continuously predicting drops since the start of July, yet the consoles never materialise. The last drop at Asda took place on 22 June at 9am and stock sold out within minutes, so it’s been a whole month since we last saw stock at the retailer.
The @PS5Instant stock tracking account claimed on 7 July that the retailer was receiving shiments that weekend and that stock would be processed and go live between 13 and 21 July. This didn’t come to fruition, sadly, but we lay in hope.

PS5 scalping is becoming less profitable
One of the reasons why the PS5 sells out so fast is because scalpers swoop in with their bots and buy large quantities of them as soon as stock goes live. They know how in-demand the console is and want to make a profit by reselling the console on eBay or other similar sites. But according to @PS5Instant, PS5s on eBay are getting cheaper and cheaper, meaning scalpers are finding it less profitable to resell the PS5 online.
We never advise buying a PS5 from a reseller – you’ll always pay more than what you should be paying for the coveted console, and you’ll be fuelling the scalper market. Drops are picking up pace, so stick around and you’ll eventually find a console at a reputable retailer.

‘Dead Space’ PS5
Get hyped! Electronic Arts just announced at its EA Play Live event that Dead Space is getting a PS5, Xbox series X and a PC remake. The survival horror classic from 2008 will utilise the Frostbite engine. EA says that it will raise “the level of horror and immersion to unprecedented heights […] through stunning visuals, audio and controls”.
There’s no release date yet, but we do have a teaser trailer. The last Dead Space game was released in 2013 and it was so poorly received that a fourth game was never developed. Here’s hoping this one will be just as good as the original.

An update on John Lewis PS5 stock
John Lewis last had a PS5 drop at 7am on 13 July. As usual with the retailer, it didn’t last very long, but it does always seem to drop at 7am like clockwork. Now we’ve had word as to when exactly the console could be dropping on the retailer’s website next.
According to @PS5StockAlertUK, the retailer is receiving new shipments of the PS5 on 26 July and there will be a tiny 1,872 consoles available. John Lewis never has huge quantities of stock when PS5s drop, with consoles usually selling out within 15 minutes. Stock is expected to go live 27-29 July after the shipment is processed.

What time could ShopTo PS5 stock become available?
ShopTo last had a drop on Sunday 11 July. The PS5 bundles that the retailer had in stock sold out within half an hour – that’s a pretty long time for a smaller retailer. Not even John Lewis or Asda can muster up that kind of man power. It may have lasted such a long time because it was selling a pretty pricey bundle, however.
You could only get a PS5 bundle with a copy of Resident Evil Village, Ratchet & Clank and the new midnight black dualsense controller for £639.85 (Shopto.net). The website is famous for shuddering to a halt and crashing as soon as new stock goes live, so it’s a bit of a headache to buy a console. But needs must, as they say.

Scan PS5 stock is rumoured to drop today
When the retailer had a drop on 1 July at 8am, stock flew off the virtual shelves within minutes. Although many people failed to secure one, it offered up a valuable lesson for future drops. The moderators of the @PS5UKStock Twitter account noticed that it was easier to check out if you added it to your wish list on one browser and then checked out on another browser. Weirdly, Safari ,Edge or Opera worked the best, while Chrome just failed.

Goodbye from your resident PS5 stock trackers
This week has been a bit of a strange one. While we’ve been having some pretty hefty drops each day this week, it feels like we’ve only been getting one drop from one retailer per day, like we’ve been put on a restricted diet or something.
On Tuesday, we had a two-hour drop at Very, on Wednesday, we had a four-hour drop at Argos, and today we had another two-hour drop at Game. That’s great and all, but we want more! The more retailers dropping stock, the better, in our eyes. We want the six drops a day of May to return! Anyway, enough wistful wondering. Go enjoy the sun, and we’ll see you back here tomorrow for some more PS5 stock tracking action.

An update on ‘GTA 5’ for PS5
If you ever needed more of a reason to get a PS5, this is probably it. Earlier this week, Rockstar Games announced that specific vehicles would be getting a speed boost and other upgrades when GTA 5 is launched on the PS5 and Xbox series X in November.
The details are pretty thin, but it sounds like next-gen gamers will be getting speed bumps, while PS4 gamers will be stuck in the slow lane. Gamers clearly aren’t happy with the news, calling it a play-to-win model, giving PS5 gamers a bigger advantage.
