PS5 restocks have been unusually frequent this week, with Walmart, Amazon, Target and GameStop all replenishing their supplies over the past few days.
Here is a breakdown of the latest information.
Walmart PS5 Restock
In a rare move, Walmart managed to coordinate two PS5 restocks this week, taking place on consecutive days.
On both occasions, the digital and disc editions of the console were available for their recommended manufacturer’s prices ($399 and $499 respectively). The Xbox Series X was also up for grabs at the same time, but all these supplies are now totally depleted.
Generally speaking, Walmart arranges its PS5 restocks every other Thursday at 3 p.m. ET. As this week’s events demonstrated though, there can be occasional surprises that you need to watch out for.

Amazon PS5 Restock
The drop was long overdue, resulting in eager shoppers that were incredibly quick on the draw. On that note, all units were snapped up within minutes and you can no longer get a PlayStation 5 from the Amazon marketplace (at least not without getting one from a third-party reseller).
Reputable console tracker Matt Swider has observed that Amazon’s restocks tend to be monthly, indicating that we will not see another one now until the end of September.

PS Direct PS5 Restock
As we reported in our previous update, Sony’s official storefront released new PS5 units on Tuesday, August 24.
This was the merchant’s third drop in the space of just one week. Prior to this, they also restocked on Tuesday, August 17 and Thursday, August 19.
Given how these dates were so closely bunched together, it is unlikely that PS Direct will be updating its inventory again anytime soon, but we would not rule it out entirely.
We do tend to hear about imminent restocks at PS Direct a little earlier than with most other merchants. This is because the outlet will usually send email alerts to random customers ahead of time, inviting them to join a virtual queue.
Newsweek will continue to monitor the situation to see if any of these emails are shared online over the coming days.

GameStop PS5 Restock
There was another PS5 restock at GameStop this week, with new units being sold on Wednesday, August 25 at 11 p.m. ET.
As per usual, this bundle was only available to “PowerUp Rewards Pro” members, leaving regular customers unable to make a purchase. Given that the same restriction has applied to all of GameStop’s drops this month, it would seem that this is going to be the standard arrangement from now on (rather than just a temporary one).
With that in mind, if you are planning on getting a next-gen console from GameStop, it would be beneficial to register for their PowerUp Pro scheme in advance. This can be done on the retailer’s website, for an annual cost of $14.99.

Target PS5 Restock
There have been a handful of local restocks at individual Target stores today (Friday, August 27).
While there is no guarantee that any units will be available near you, it is worth periodically checking just to ensure that you do not miss out. To that end, you can search by ZIP code on the Target website to see if any stores in your nearby proximity have the PS5 in stock.

Best Buy PS5 Restock
The last time that the PS5 was in stock at Best Buy was on Thursday, August 12.
Most outlets replenish their inventories on a fortnightly basis, yet Best Buy can be a little more unpredictable when it comes to its restock pattern. Still, it is probably worth checking their website around August 24 just to be on the safe side.

Antonline PS5 Restock
You cannot get a PS5 from Antonline at the moment, but there are a few options for getting your hands on one of Microsoft’s next-gen consoles instead. You can find out more about these deals in our latest Xbox restock update.

Newegg PS5 Restock

The PS5 remains sold out at Costco, where it has not been in stock for many weeks now. In the unlikely event that the situation improves over the weekend, @mattswider and @GYXdeals will broadcast timely updates to their followers.
