PlayStation 5 restocks have been few and far between in September, as many retailers focus on getting supplies ready for the holiday season.
Yet it is still possible to find one of the elusive Sony consoles if you keep up to date with the relevant information. Here is a breakdown of the restock situation at every major U.S retailer.
Best Buy PS5 Restock
Best Buy has not replenished its PS5 inventory since mid-August and is now long overdue for a drop.
However, it is quite difficult to predict when this might occur, given that Best Buy does not have a particularly consistent restock pattern.
We can narrow it down slightly by pointing out that the retailer has never sold PS5s over the weekend or in the evening. It also tends to coordinate its drops after 9:30 a.m. ET, but that does not give us too much to go on.
As always, Newsweek will keep you posted if any firmer information becomes available in the near future.

Walmart PS5 Restock
As we predicted in our last update, Walmart did restock on Thursday, September 16.
The good times did not last, however, with many disappointed shoppers reporting that PS5 supplies were exhausted in just under a minute.
The merchant usually sticks to a fortnightly restock pattern. It will often, but not always, release units on Wednesdays at 3 p.m. ET. So, you should expect the next drop to occur around the afternoon of September 30.

PS Direct PS5 Restock
When it comes to distributing its PS5 units, Sony’s official storefront will invite randomly selected customers to join a virtual queue early.
As soon as people start to receive these emails, which specify a date and time for the imminent drop, word tends to get out. As a result, we are often alerted to PS Direct restocks a few days in advance.
To stay abreast of when the virtual queue will be opening again, follow dedicated console trackers such as @mattswider and @GYXdeals on Twitter.

Newegg PS5 Restock
There are no PS5s available in today’s Newegg shuffle—a type of lottery draw for popular products—but the usual gaming PC components are up for grabs.
Although Sony’s console is not in the shuffle, you can browse the rest of Newegg’s website to see if there are any second-hand units for sale.
As always, it is important to remember that, if you find a PS5 here, it will likely be overpriced. This is because Newegg allows third parties to trade on its website, which gives scalpers a platform to resell consoles at an inflated rate.
A standalone PS5 (not bundled with any accessories or games) is currently listed on the website for $989. This is nearly double the recommended retail price.

Amazon PS5 Restock
Amazon usually restocks once a month. Given that there has already been a drop in September, it is doubtful that the marketplace’s inventory will be replenished again until October.
In the meantime, you can always look for second-hand units on the website but, as with Newegg, these will be expensive.

Target PS5 Restock
Target was last selling PS5 units a week ago, so there is probably not going to be another restock until Friday, September 24, at the earliest.
Target drops do not always fall on the same day of the week, but they do usually take place sometime between 7 a.m. ET and 8 a.m. ET.
As such, we recommend that you make a habit of checking its website for PS5 units in the early morning.

Antonline PS5 Restock
Antonline had PS5s for sale at 10 a.m. ET on Thursday, September 16.
The next-gen console was offered with a Pulse 3D wireless headset, a compatible media remote and PS5 copies of MLB The Show 21 and Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut. This package cost $769.96.
Although these supplies have now been depleted, you can still get an Xbox Series S from Antonline. The less-powerful Microsoft conso is available in two separate bundles at the time of writing.

GameStop PS5 Restock
GameStop has already restocked PS5s this week and is unlikely to do so again in the near future.
Many retailers restock on a fortnightly basis, so it will probably be another couple of weeks before the PS5 is available at GameStop.

You cannot get a PS5 from Sam’s Club at the moment, but the retailer does have an Xbox Series S bundle listed on its website.
