Scott Morrison – Prime Minister Scott Morrison loudly booed by West Coast fans at Optus Stadium
Prime Minister Scott Morrison was not a popular man at Optus Stadium tonight, loudly booed by the big pro-West Coast crowd.
The Australian leader was seated at the Eagles-Collingwood clash alongside former WA federal minister Mathias Cormann when he was shown on the big screen late in the second term.
Loud boos quickly filled the stadium when Morrison’s face appeared on the big screen.
Morrison’s approval rating has tanked in recent months following a string of scandals for the Liberal government.
The backlash, led by sexual abuse survivors following dramatic claims of inappropriate behaviour inside Parliament, has seen the PM’s performance plunge from 62 per cent to 55 per cent in the space of just two weeks, according to the latest Newspoll.
The PM arrived in WA for the first time in 18 months earlier this week, promising to maintain our GST revenue share.
Since his last visit, the WA Liberals were blown out of the water at the recent State election with Mark McGowan’s Labor government winning in a landslide vote.
