MEXICO – The government of Mexico reported that the Chinese company Sinovac filed the procedures for its Coronavac vaccine against COVID-19 with the country’s health authority, the Federal Commission for Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris).
The procedures begin hours after the CanSino Biologics company completed phase three of its vaccine in Mexico, after applying it to 14,425 volunteers and began the path to obtain its emergency use in the country.
Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard thanked the Government of Chile “for sharing its experience in mass vaccination with doses developed by Sinovac.”

Mexico has agreements for 34.4 million doses from Pfizer, 77.4 million from the British AstraZeneca, 35 million from the Chinese CanSino and 51.5 million from the Covax platform. In addition, it negotiated with Russia 24 million doses of the Sputnik V formula.
