Boeing Stock – DOD, UK in Advanced Talks Over $2B Extended-Range Chinook Helicopter Deal
The U.S. Department of Defense and the UK. government are working out the details of an approximately $2 billion foreign military sales agreement for extended-range Chinook multimission helicopters, manufactured by Boeing (NYSE: (BA)), Bloomberg reported Tuesday.
UK. indicated its intent to buy 14 new H-47(ER) units in a letter of offer and acceptance and reconsidered the set of costs associated with the purchase plan.
The report said Britain also wants to postpone the delivery schedule by up to three years due to pandemic-related financial concerns.
A British embassy spokeswoman told Bloomberg in an email advanced discussions are underway to begin the aircraft procurement process and the UK. expects deliveries to be completed before the end of calendar year 2030.
The Royal Air Force received its first Chinook in November 1980 and deployed the heavy-lift helicopter platform to defense missions across the globe, according to Boeing.
