Brooks Koepka leads after second round of WGC-Workday Championship
Koepka ($9,500) has not had a great start to the year, but he currently owns sole possession of the lead after the second round of the WGC-Workday Championship. Koepka did win the Phoenix Open two starts ago, but he’s finished 38th and missed three cuts in his four other most recent outings. He opened with a five-under-par 67 on Thursday and followed that up with a six-under-par 66 on Friday, and he finished with seven birdies and one bogey during the second round. He owns a one-shot lead over Billy Horschel ($7,000), Collin Morikawa ($9,000) and Cameron Smith ($8,700), who are all tied for second at 10-under-par. Koepka has moved to a +275 favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook, which puts him just slightly ahead of Morikawa (+650). — Matt LaMarca
Collin Morikawa, Bryson DeChambeau card 64s Friday at WGC-Workday
Morikawa ($9,000) and DeChambeau ($9,900) both caught fire on Friday, racking up eight and nine birdies, respectively. Morikawa now only trails Brooks Koepka ($9,500) by one stroke for the lead and sports the second-best odds to win on DraftKings Sportsbook (+650). It is also worth noting that the 24-year-old was only 8.47% owned in DraftKings’ $1 Million Flop Shot tournament. As for DeChambeau, his impressive round on Friday was a huge bounce back for the bomber. After missing the cut last week at the Genesis Invitational, he posted a five-over 77 on Thursday at The Concession. After these two, we saw Koepka, Cameron Smith ($8,700), Abraham Ancer ($6,800), Hideki Matsuyama ($8,400) and Justin Thomas ($10,500) all flourish on Friday with six-under 66s. — Alex Hunter
Matthew Fitzpatrick, Webb Simpson sit atop WGC-Workday Championship leaderboard
After 18 holes of the WGC-Workday Championship, Fitzpatrick ($8,500) and Simpson ($9,100) share the lead after shooting -6 on the day. Fitzpatrick tallied six birdies with the only streak coming on holes 14 and 15. That was good for 57 DKFP. Simpson bogeyed hole five, but notched seven birdies with two separate streaks — on holes two and three then on holes 15, 16 and 17. That translated to 58.5 DKFP. DK Sportsbook has Simpson at +700 to win while Fitzpatrick is at +1100. — Stan Son
