The NCAA Tournament returned in 2021 and there was plenty of March Madness. With players getting to showcase their abilities on the grand stage, we were able to get a sense of which ones may enter the pool for the 2021 N(BA) Draft. The N(BA) announced the 2021 draft will take place on July 29, with the N(BA) Draft Combine to be held at the end of June from the 21-27. The N(BA) Draft Lottery will be on June 22.
So with all these dates set, we can start to look at players who are declaring for the draft. Below we’ll be tracking all the latest names from college basketball and throughout the world. The deadline to declare is Sunday, May 30 at midnight.
James Bouknight, G, UConn
The sophomore from Connecticut will forego his junior year and enter the 2021 draft pool and plans to hire an agent, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The hiring of the agent means Bouknight will not be allowed to return to school after the deadline to declare, which is Sunday, May 30. Bouknight led the Huskies in scoring at 18.7 points per game this season. The Brooklyn Native missed 8 games due to injury and came back to lead UConn into the NCAA Tournament as a 10-seed, losing to No. 7 Maryland in the first round.
Here’s a personal statement from Bouknight:
Neemias Queta, C, Utah State
Queta declared for the 2021 N(BA) Draft on March 29 and will forego his senior season at Utah State. The 7-footer averaged 14.9 points and 10.1 rebounds per game in his junior year. He isn’t projected to go in the first round, but could be selected at some point later in the draft given his size. Queta was named Mountain West Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year this season.
Bryce Hamilton, G, UNLV
The Rebels leading scorer will enter the 2021 N(BA) Draft, Hamilton announced on Twitter. He is not hiring an agent, so Hamilton has the option to return for his senior season in 2021-22. Hamilton averaged 17.9 points and 6.0 rebounds per game in 2020-21.
