The U.S. Commerce Consultant stated it’s contemplating extra tariffs on $3.1 billion worth of merchandise from France, Germany, Spain, and the UK.
The disclosure, submitting concerning the
dispute, stated it’s concentrating on new merchandise for tariffs, together with olives, gin and vans, whereas growing tariffs for plane and yogurt.
The tariffs are permitted by the World Commerce Group after its ruling in favor of Boeing.
The U.S. already has a 15% tariff on Airbus plane.
“Talks between the U.S. and EU aimed at reaching agreement over a range of trade issues have slowed down in recent months, and a quick deal no longer seems likely,” stated Clayton Allen, an analyst at Peak Securities.
He stated it’s unlikely that any potential new tariffs could be imposed till the start of September.
Individually, the New York Occasions reported that U.S. is contemplating reimposing tariffs on Canadian aluminum.
