Tetris – Sega Working to Fix Issues With Latest Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 Update
A recent update for Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 left the game in a semi-broken state, but Sega is working on fixing this as soon as possible.
Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 released late last year as a follow-up to its predecessor and a solid puzzling adventure. Although the game has been enjoyed this far, it is not without its flaws. Thus, Sega has been working hard on ensuring that Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 is as smooth as possible through various updates.
Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 is continually being supported, as Sonic the Hedgehog content was added to the game recently. But with the January 14 update (Version 1.1.0), a negative effect accidentally took place. Item Cards are normally supposed to have special effects, but now are sometimes not activating during matches, and therefore this needs to be addressed.
Sega is working on the Item Card issue now. Unfortunately, the fix will not be deployed until next month, but the team is hoping to implement the fix by early February, so fans should not have to wait too long. Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 received decent reviews when it launched, but updates that break some aspects of the game will hurt it. So fixing the game sooner rather than later will be good for the puzzle game.
We have identified an issue in the January 14 update for Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 (Version 1.1.0) where Item Cards aren’t activating their special effects during matches.
We’re currently working on a fix for this to be deployed in early February, and apologize for any inconvenience.

There is a lot to enjoy in Puyo Puyo Tetris 2, including the new Skill Battle Mode and the fresh content being added through updates. One complaint about the game is that it perhaps launched in a state a bit too similar to the original, but updates and additional content could allow it to grow and differentiate itself. However, if said updates also add glitches, that will only make things worse. The perfect mix would be to give players fun new content while keeping the game smooth and playable.
Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 is available now on PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with a PC release currently in development.
