An internal email reveals the latest positive case involving an employee at the Hays Boulevard location in Oakville. The May 4 memo, which was sent to “Walmart Canada Suppliers and Service Partners,” lists April 24 as the infected employee’s last day of work.
In a statement, a spokesperson with the retailer said that out of an abundance of caution, “when an associate who works in one of our stores is confirmed as having tested positive, associates identified as being in close prolonged contact are directed to self-isolate. We are in contact with local public health.”
The company also said that safety continues to be a top priority at Walmart and that it will continue to take measures “to support the well-being of our customers and associates.”
Yesterday, shoppers expressed concern at the number of cases at the Halton Walmart stores.
