Attempted Robbery: Woodland police reported they arrested a suspect in the attempted robbery of Autozone on West Main Street at 7:30 a.m., Dec. 26. Police stated that a customer at Autozone reported a man brandishing a knife at employees. The man also attempted to get cash from the register and left before officers arrived. Police later found and arrested a man identified as David Alarcon, 36, of Woodland, in the parking lot of the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant, which is immediately south of Autozone on Main Street. Alarcon is being charged with armed robbery.
Stolen Vehicle: Officers conducted a vehicle stop on a Honda Civic for running a stop sign at Willow Way and West Southwood Drive at 10:44 p.m. on Dec. 27. The driver, Robert
Thompson, 21, of Woodland, stated that he did not know who owned the vehicle. Davis police, however, contacted the registered owner and determined the Honda was an unreported stolen vehicle. Thompson was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and booked into Yolo County Jail.
The Homeless Outreach Street Team reported that for Dec. 25-Dec. 31, an officer saw a person who had a felony warrant walk into Walmart, after cover officers arrived on scene, went inside the store and arrested the person without incident on felony and misdemeanor charges. HOST also assisted the city with acquiring and distributing porta potties in parks while the bathrooms were closed down due to the coronavirus, met with the property owner at T-Bow Storage to discuss ongoing homeless and cleanup needs. Saw the finalization of cleanup at property owned by Walmart on East Main Street and will continue to meet with Walmart officials to ensure the property stays clean. There were 73 contacts this week with services offered to 22 subjects and accepted by four. There were 18 camps located, of which five were cleaned up, three arrests made, and 12 citations.
