Playstation 5 – Tesla Model S can supposedly play Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3
Tesla’s new 2021 Model S will be able to run Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3, according to company founder Elon Musk. Fresh off the reveal of the redesigned and upgraded Model S, Musk took to social media to share an image of the vehicle’s dashboard display-screen featuring The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Musk followed it up by adding it can play Cyberpunk 2077.
Both The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 are from developer CD Projekt Red. The Witcher 3 released in 2015 and is considered one of the greatest RPGs. Cyberpunk 2077, on the other hand, was a complete disappointment upon its launch in December. Still, the fact that the new Tesla Model S can run both of these games is quite an impressive feat.
The upgraded model features a 17″ display with 2200×1300 resolution, ultra bright, true colors, exceptional responsiveness and left-right tilt. It also boasts up to 10 teraflops of processing power, which industry veteran and Game Awards host Geoff Keighly pointed out is comparable to the PlayStation 5. It’s more than the Xbox Series S (4 teraflops), but less than the Xbox Series X (12 teraflops).
And for those concerned about the Tesla’s limited storage, which previously had 32gb of onboard storage, Musk says the new Model S screen has “more storage” and is “easily upgradable.” He didn’t get into specifics, however.
It will be interesting to see just how well Cyberpunk 2077 on the Tesla stacks up to the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series S|X versions. We all know the game had difficulty running on last-gen systems, but it even had issues on the current systems. The slow frame rate and poor rendering was in addition to the numerous glitches and bugs that marred the entire experience.
But for all the issues that have plagued Cyberpunk 2077, it’s hard not to be excited about what Tesla is bringing to the table with its in-vehicle gaming. I know we all thought we’d have flying cars by now, but I’d say the ability to play current-gen games is a close second, right?
