There are different groups of shows to discuss: Disney Plus originals, animated shows, and the Lego Star Wars shows.
The Mandalorian (now streaming)
Five years after the Empire falls in the “Star Wars” trilogy, “The Mandalorian” focuses on a bounty hunter assigned to protect an animal that has a special connection to the Force. The series, starring Pedro Pascal as the title character, was created, written, shown, and produced by Jon Favreau (“Lion King” and “Iron Man”).

Disney Plus Original Star Wars Shows (Upcoming)
Rangers of the New Republic
It is being developed for Disney Plus at present, and it will be set at the same time as The Mandalorian (between episodes VI and VII) and will follow the characters involved in the series.
Ahsoka
There is another series that is being developed for Disney+ called Ahsoka, which will take place in the same setting as The Mandalorian (between episodes VI and VII of The Mandalorian). In addition to The Mandalorian, it will feature Ahsoka Tano in several Star Wars media.
The Acolyte
Acolyte, a series developed for Disney Plus, is a science fiction series that will take place roughly one hundred years before the Star Wars movies.
Animated Star Wars Shows
In addition to the five Disney Plus original Star Wars shows, Disney Plus also offers the first season of one show.
The Clone Wars
As the series ended with a galactic conflict, many viewers were left unsatisfied, so many people were disappointed by Attack of the Clones. As opposed to delegations with the senate and political affairs that involved bouts of combat between them, Gendy Tartakovsky’s contribution to the saga provided more satisfying and action-packed scenes.
While the original episodes are just five minutes long, Disney+ has produced a two-volume animated epic featuring the thrilling adventures of multiple Jedi Masters. In essence, it illustrates how the heroes perform at their best and how the epic battles of the war had a significant effect on the galaxy. It bridges the gap between Episode II and Episode III of the prequel trilogy.
Star Wars Rebels
A 3D animated series based on the Star Wars franchise, Star Wars Rebels fills the small gap between Episodes III and IV (that is, between the original trilogy and the prequel trilogy). The show’s fans, no secret, are eagerly anticipating the 75-episode series that depicts the struggle of rebels against the Empire, a conflict that has earned the series many accolades.
Star Wars Resistance
A 3D animated TV show called Star Wars Resistance (Episodes VII, VIII, and IX) airs before and during the sequel trilogy. The series depicted members of the Resistance of the First Order in their fight against them and was well received, but it was short-lived with only 40 episodes.
Forces of Destiny
The Star Wars galaxy’s heroines are featured in 32 shorts collected in Forces of Destiny. As the storylines are scattered across the timeline, they should only be watched after you’ve watched all the films.
Star Wars Blips
BB-8 stars in eight one-minute films, Star Wars Blips, which may be viewed after the films have been shown.
Lego Star Wars
You can find Lego Star Wars episodes and shorts on Disney Plus. Disney Plus does not have all of the Lego Star Wars characters and sets available in its catalog, so I cannot speculate on why all of the Lego Star Wars worlds are not available on Disney Plus.
- Droid Tales (2015 5-part Miniseries)
- The New Yoda Chronicles (2014, 5 episodes)
- The Resistance Rises (2016 shorts)
- All Stars (2018 series + shorts)
- The Freemaker Adventures (2016 series + shorts)
- Terrifying Tales (2021 short film)
- Holiday Special (2020 short film)
- Summer Vacation (2022 short film)
The episodes in different series are set at other times, so it’s useless to pin down exactly when they occur chronologically. We recommend watching the films in order of release or reading more about them at Wookieepedia.
